Like virtually all of SE Jakes' books, this is a superb, complex and sexually hot story with a BDSM aspect. The story has a great set up. Sam, who has been grievously wounded while deployed on a mission and who comes from a military family, is about to get married and asks Quinn, his older brother who was the only one in his family to not join the military, and Con who is his best friend from being together as Delta Force soldiers, to be joint best men at his wedding. He has not seen either of them for 3 years and asks that they travel together on a road trip from California to the Catskills in New York and to adhere to his itinerary going from one prepaid hotel and restaurant to the next over two weeks. Both Quinn and Con are gay and Quinn, who is a master tattoo artist who dislikes all things military, is also a Dom in his sexual life. Con who is all military has a submissive side to him when engaged in sex but is otherwise a pool hustler who enjoys sucking in guys who think they are tough and when they get furious over being hustled and attempt to attack him, quickly find out that they picked the wrong guy to attack when he puts them down swiftly, but not doing permanent damage to them.During this road trip, Quinn and Con, who really don't like each other at first but stick to Sam's itinerary because of their love for Sam, get to know each other both as friends and lovers and as Dom and Sub. Neither has ever wanted a permanent relationship (for Quinn, during the past three years and for Con forever) but the longer they are together the more they fall in love with each other and hope that they will remain together permanently even though it seems impossible.
This is one of the most enjoyable and sexually stimulating books that I have read in quite a while (and I read 3 or 4 books a week). You really are denying yourself a wonderful reading experience if you miss this one. So buy it, read it and enjoy this superb road trip with Quinn and Con.

An up and coming series by SE Jakes, and I cannot wait for the next installment. The characters Quinn and Con are brought together by Quinn’s brother Scott who gives each the task of getting the other to his wedding. Scott’s ulterior motives become evident as the journey progresses and as each man’s need for what the other can offer becomes apparent. The question is, will they bend to that need or will they resist it and move on separately. Rest easy. As with other stories by this author, there will be a happy ending, but not before some twists and turns.
Quinn's brother Scott says he wants Quinn to bring his best friend Con to his wedding. Quinn's brother Scott tell his best friend Con to bring his brother Quinn to the wedding. Only the two don't know Scott set the whole thing up. The trip from California to New York takes awhile...long enough for passion to bloom and love to blossom...along with lessons in dominance and submission. It was all over when Con called Quinn and said, "Can you come get me." You'll just have to read the book to find out, but it's well worth picking up and devouring.
I loved this book. SE Jake's showed that two people who had different upbringing can fall in love despite their personal problems. Quinn who is from a military family and is a tattoo artist and Con who is delta with no family to speak of got together because of Scott who is Quinn's brother and Con's brother in the military. These two fell in love along a two week trip that Scott planned for these two so they can get to Scott's wedding. I can not wait for the next book in this series. Erin
The relationship between Con and Quinn is remarkably captivating. I loved the way the Dom aspect played into the story without taking it over. I loved that both characters were magnificently written with strong personalities and lots of attitude. I liked the way this story was written in such a way that no one had to be saved or rescued but it was so interesting you couldn't put it down. I love SE Jakes writing style so much because she can put you in the room with her characters and make you feel all of their emotions. This is a very hot story that was a great cross country trip. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!
This is an excellent story of two men finding each other on a long road trip designed by a mutual friend to one .. brother to the other. Insightful description & discussion of military/non-military emotion. Love this book! Is on my reread list & has been reread several times! Don't miss it!
Con and Quinn, brother and brother in arms to Scott who has set them up in a cross country trip together.
With one man full of bad childhood memories and trust issues and the other one hurting and broken by loss they are unprepared for the bond between them.
I love how Quinn are able to read Con and how Con realises that he likes to submit to Quin, the light D/s bits in the book are good and I enjoyed their trip together.
Jakes puts great effort into creating two characters that are thoughtfully back storied and then thrown into a road trip scenario that is totally plausible and flows naturally. It is of course no surprise that our two protagonist bros are both going to be impossibly hot, hot for each other and end up together by the end of the story but what it lacks in major plot surprises it more than makes up for with great dialogue and an ability to make the reader feel as though they're the third person on the road trip with these two. My major complaint (which is one I take issue with many of the offerings of this genre) is that 18 chapters is a LOT of time to devote strictly to the actions, thoughts and feelings of only two people and Jakes puts very minimal effort into showing us the other people who are encountered on this road trip such as waitresses, front desk clerks, gas station attendants etc... The story suffers from a case of claustrophobia that could be easily remedied by giving us more details about places, locations and more than just a one dimensional swipe at the supporting characters in the story. (Doing so would take this from a four star read to a five star read and I know the author is capable for she does so exceptionally well with the two main characters.) Despite this major flaw, this is still a very solid, enjoyable read and I highly recommend it.
